Franck Calland is an accomplished French engineer, certified practitioner, and holistic therapist who has established himself as a prominent figure in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in Paris. Born in October 1964, Calland spent the first phase of his professional life working within classical engineering and technical management. His career took a radical turn following a severe skiing accident at the age of 32. Severe injuries to his arm and shoulder left him seeking recovery methods outside conventional Western frameworks, exposing him to the profound curative potential of alternative therapies and sparking a lifelong passion for eastern medicine.
Determined to pivot his professional life toward helping others achieve holistic well-being, Calland underwent rigorous international clinical training. He studied the foundational roots of TCM, immersing himself in acupuncture, Chinese dietetics, and specialized pharmacopeia. To expand his clinical capabilities, he trained across Europe and the United States under highly regarded global masters. This included mastering specialized modalities such as Zheng Gu Tuina under Franck Butler, meridian palpation under Dr. Wang Ju Yi, the legendary Shen Hammer pulse diagnosis system under Claus Sørrensen, and abdominal acupuncture with Dr. Zhiyun Bo.
By 2006, Calland officially transitioned into full-time clinical practice. He consolidated his entrepreneurial and therapeutic work by launching his own practices and established the Institut Long in Paris. Operating out of his specialized wellness center located on Avenue Mac-Mahon near the Arc de Triomphe, he began combining ancient eastern philosophies with analytical methods.
